Description

We stock the Bassa as an amber glass LED pendant light for over a table, island or seating area. A hand-blown amber glass diffuser in a flattened ovoid form hangs from a round black metal canopy on fine wire cables, with an integrated 20W LED inside giving 2000 lumens of warm white (3000K) light. The amber-toned glass casts a warm glow across the surfaces below and around the fitting.

It suits dining tables, kitchen islands and lounge areas with a ceiling height of 2.4m or higher, where it pairs ambient and decorative light in one fitting. The organic shape of the glass softens the spread, and the wide 180 degree beam angle covers a 6 to 8 square metre area when hung centrally. The LED is dimmable, so you can set it from full brightness for task work over a worktop down to a low, warm setting for evenings.

Because the amber glass is mouth-blown, each piece shows slight variation in tone and the way colour sits across the surface. The black canopy and suspension cables keep the focus on the glass, and the integrated 20W LED means there are no separate bulbs to buy. The colour rendering sits at 80 CRI, and the IP20 rating suits dry indoor rooms such as dining rooms, living rooms and bedrooms, rather than bathrooms or areas exposed to steam.

Frequently Asked

Is it dimmable?

Yes. The integrated LED dims on a compatible trailing-edge dimmer (sold separately), so you can set it from full brightness down to a soft glow for dining or relaxing.

Do I need to buy a bulb?

No. The 20W LED is built into the fitting and gives 2000 lumens of warm white (3000K) light, so there is nothing extra to buy or replace.

Which rooms is it suitable for?

It is rated IP20 for dry indoor spaces, so it works well over dining tables, kitchen islands and in living rooms or bedrooms. We would not fit it in a bathroom or anywhere exposed to steam.

Why does the glass look slightly different from the photos?

The amber glass diffuser is mouth-blown, so each one shows small natural variations in tone and colour across the surface. That is part of the hand-made finish rather than a fault.
