Description

Basmorne is a square flush ceiling light: a compact aluminium cube finished in black, with a white interior framing the opening on its underside. It measures 10cm long, 10cm wide and 12cm high, so it sits close to the ceiling and keeps a small footprint while still reading as a crisp geometric shape. It takes a single GU10 bulb, which is not included, so you choose the brightness and colour of light that suits the room. The IP20 rating settles where it belongs: this is a fitting for dry indoor rooms.

Because the light leaves through the open base, it throws a focused pool downwards rather than spreading across the ceiling, which makes it a good choice above a dining table, along a hallway, on a landing or over a desk in a study. Fitted in a row, several cubes make a neat line of downlights down a corridor. The black and white finish sits comfortably in monochrome schemes, industrial interiors and modern rooms alike, and the square profile looks tidier than a round spot wherever walls, shelves and cabinets are all straight lines.
