Baskin 1 Light Pendant - Polished Nickel

The Baskin is a single-pendant light built around a flared clear glass shade with a polished nickel canopy, rod and bulb holder. The shade measures 254mm in diameter and 264mm in height, tapering from a wide opening at the base to a narrower neck where it meets the nickel fitting. A single E27 bulb sits inside the glass (sold separately), with the clear shade amplifying the light throw and making the filament visible when a decorative bulb is used.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and breakfast bar positions where a single directed light source is needed, the Baskin provides both task illumination and decorative accent. The 1829mm adjustable cord allows the pendant to be set anywhere from 301mm to 2090mm drop, letting the fitting adapt to ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.6m while maintaining clearance above work surfaces or table height. The polished nickel finish reflects ambient light and pairs cleanly with stainless steel appliances, chrome taps and cooler-toned interiors.

The clear glass shade is thick-walled to resist thermal stress from higher-wattage bulbs and shows minimal distortion when looking through it, keeping the filament crisp when a vintage-style Edison bulb is fitted. The flared cone shape directs light downward while allowing enough spread at the rim to wash the underside of the canopy with reflected light. At 60W maximum rating, the fitting handles standard LED, halogen or filament E27 bulbs without restriction.

What bulb does the Baskin take?

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Many users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K to show the filament through the clear glass.

What drop height works for a kitchen island or dining table?

For kitchen islands and dining tables, the pendant typically sits 700-900mm above the surface. With the 1829mm adjustable cord, this works in rooms with ceiling heights from 2.4m upwards. The cord length is set during installation and cannot be adjusted afterward without re-fitting.

Is the glass shade replaceable if damaged?

The glass shade is a separate component from the metalwork. Replacement shades may be available directly from Feiss or through authorised distributors — contact us for current availability.

Can the polished nickel be cleaned without dulling the finish?

Polished nickel can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust and fingerprints. For tougher marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable. Avoid abrasive cleaners, metal polishes or chemical sprays that may dull or discolour the finish over time.
