Description
We stock the Basic Texture as a spherical globe pendant with a black marble-effect finish, and this is the E27 version that takes a replaceable bulb rather than an integrated LED. The metal shade carries a high-gloss black surface with subtle veining and tonal variation, so it holds its depth under both daylight and lamplight. A single E27 fitting sits inside, rated to 50W maximum, and the globe hangs on black flex from a matching black canopy.
We think it works over a dining table, a kitchen island, a bedside spot or an entrance hall, either as one feature over a small table or in a run of several along a longer island or bar. The compact globe pushes light down through the lower opening while the upper surface bounces a little back onto the ceiling, so you get a focused pool without a harsh edge. It suits ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, with the flex cut on installation to sit the globe roughly 700 to 900mm above a surface.
The finish is a marble effect applied to a metal substrate rather than natural stone, which keeps the look consistent and the weight down while still reading like real veining. It carries an IP20 rating for indoor dry rooms only, so it is not suitable for bathrooms or outdoors. It runs on 220 to 240V AC and is not dimmable. The black canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and hides the cable entry.

Frequently Asked
What bulb does it take?
It takes a single E27 bulb rated up to 50W, which you buy separately. Because the fitting is standard E27 rather than an integrated LED, you can choose your own bulb and swap it whenever you like.
Is it dimmable?
The fitting itself is not dimmable. If you want to dim it, that depends on running a dimmable E27 bulb on a compatible dimmer switch, both bought separately.
Can I use it in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20 for indoor dry rooms only, so we would not fit it in a bathroom or anywhere outdoors. It is well suited to dining areas, kitchens, bedrooms and hallways.
Is the shade real marble?
No, it is a marble-effect finish applied to metal rather than solid stone. That keeps the weight down and the veining consistent while still giving the depth of natural marble.
