Description

We stock the Basic Texture in black as a compact circular wall light, cut as a slim disc from matt black metal with an integrated 5W LED behind a frosted diffuser. It is the plain metal version of the range, sitting alongside the marble and wood options, and it casts a soft, even glow rather than a focused task beam. The wide 180 degree spread sends light up and down the wall and forward into the room, which suits ambient and accent lighting.

We think it works well in hallways, up a staircase, on a bedroom accent wall or in a living room alcove, where its low projection keeps it close to the surface. Because the light throws both up and down, pairs look balanced flanking a doorway, and a run spaced at roughly 1.5 to 2 metres lifts a corridor without glare. The matt black finish stays visually quiet during the day and reads clearly once the diffuser is lit.

The integrated LED draws 5W on 220-240V AC mains and gives between 289 and 318 lumens depending on the colour temperature chosen at installation: 2700K warm white, 3000K neutral white or 4000K cool white. It has a CRI of 80 and is rated IP20, so it is for dry indoor use only and not for bathrooms or covered outdoor spots. The LED is not dimmable and is built in, so there is no separate bulb to buy.

Is this the marble or wood version?

No. This is the plain matt black metal disc from the Basic Texture range. The marble and wood finishes are sold as separate options, so choose this one if you want the solid metal look.

Can I dim it?

No. The integrated LED is not dimmable, so it stays at a fixed brightness and will not work on a dimmer switch. It gives a steady, soft glow rather than an adjustable level.

Can I use it in a bathroom or outdoors?

No. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor use only, so we would not fit it in a bathroom, a covered outdoor spot or anywhere exposed to moisture. It is ideal for hallways, stairs, bedrooms and living rooms.

Do I need to buy a bulb?

No. The 5W LED is built in, so there is no separate bulb to buy or replace. You choose the colour temperature (2700K, 3000K or 4000K) at installation.
