Description
This is a low, broad stoneware vase in blue, 16cm across and 12cm tall, so it is wider than it is high. A short neck flares out to the rim and sits on a wide, angled shoulder, and below that the body narrows again towards the base, giving it the outline of a spinning top. Rows of speckled rings run round the neck, the shoulder and the lower body. It is made entirely of stoneware and weighs 0.65KG.
Because it is low and wide, it suits short arrangements: a few stems of leaves, a small posy or a single bloom cut short. It sits well on a windowsill among plants and books, on a side table beside the sofa, or on a bookshelf where height is limited. Its round, angled body looks much the same from every side, so it can stand in the middle of a low table as easily as against a wall. The blue and the ringed pattern bring a point of colour to a calm room, and it makes a thoughtful gift for anyone who loves pottery.
Stoneware is clay fired at a high temperature until it is dense and hard, and this vase is made of nothing else, so there are no other materials or fittings to consider. The contrast of finishes is the detail that rewards a closer look: the blue surface is glossy and catches the light from a window, while the rings are matt and lightly speckled, so the pattern has texture as well as colour. For styling, keep the arrangement short and loose, let a few leaves arch over the rim so the flared neck still shows, and group it with brass, warm wood or plain ceramics in quieter tones so the pattern leads.

Frequently Asked
What material is the vase?
It is made of 100% stoneware, a dense clay fired at a high temperature, with no other materials in it.
How big is it?
It stands 12cm tall and measures 16cm across, so it is a low, broad vase best suited to short stems and small posies.
How heavy is it?
It weighs 0.65KG, light enough to move easily between a shelf and a windowsill yet with the solid feel of stoneware.
Are the stems included?
No. The vase is sold on its own, and the styling props shown are not included, so you can fill it however you choose.
Where does it work best?
Its low, wide shape suits a windowsill, a side table or a bookshelf, anywhere a tall vase would feel too much.
Is the whole vase glossy?
The blue surface has a glossy finish, while the rings are matt and lightly speckled, so the pattern has a gentle texture under the fingers.
