The Barbena is a flush ceiling light with three lamp holders under a low, rounded dome of clear brilliant glass. Each faceted piece of glass sits in its own polished chrome ring, and the rings link together into an open shell that catches light from every angle. The body is steel in a chrome finish, and the fitting measures 45cm in diameter and 20.5cm high, so it stays close to the ceiling rather than dropping into the room. It takes three E27 bulbs at up to 60W each. The bulbs are not included, which leaves you free to choose the warmth and brightness you prefer. It is rated IP20, so it belongs indoors in a dry room rather than a bathroom.

Because it sits close to the ceiling, the Barbena suits rooms where a hanging pendant would feel low: a living room, a bedroom, a hallway or a landing. Once the bulbs are lit, the glass scatters sparkle and soft shadow across the ceiling, giving a plain room real character after dark.
