Six slender arms sweep out from a central stem, each ending in a bare candle lampholder, so the lamps you choose do the decorating. The frame measures 44cm across and holds close to the ceiling, which keeps headroom clear in rooms where a hanging pendant would be in the way. Champagne gold gives it a softer, warmer tone than polished brass, and chain is supplied with the fitting. We would run matching candle LEDs across all six holders so the arms read as one piece rather than a mix.

It suits a hallway, on a landing, or in a dining room with a ceiling that will not take a long drop, and it works nicely over a round table where the spread of arms answers the shape below. Bedrooms suit it too, since small candle lamps give a light that is scattered and gentle rather than one hard pool. Dimming is possible, but it is the lamps that do it: choose dimmable candles and a dimmer suited to them. The arms, stem and ceiling plate carry the same champagne gold, so nothing jars where the parts meet, and the bare holders are part of the look rather than something to hide. What lamps does it take?

Six E14 candle lamps, one per arm. LED candles in the C35 shape are the sensible choice, up to 20W each. Lamps are supplied separately.

How far down does it hang?

The body stands 340mm tall and the supplied 1.5m chain allows a drop of between 450mm and 1900mm, so it can sit tight to the ceiling or hang lower over a table.

Can I put it on a dimmer?

Yes, provided the candle lamps you fit are dimmable and the dimmer is compatible with them. No dimmer is supplied.

How wide is it?

440mm in diameter, which covers a fair span of ceiling without dominating a medium sized room. It weighs 1.7kg.

Is it suitable for a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, which means dry indoor rooms only, well away from showers, baths and steam.

How should I clean the champagne gold?

A dry, lint free cloth over the arms and holders is enough. Avoid metal polish, abrasive creams and household sprays, as these can dull or lift the finish.
