Description

Six slender arms sweep out from a central stem, each turned upward to hold a candle lamp, so light lifts towards the ceiling as well as spreading across the room. The frame measures 44cm across and sits close overhead, with a chain supplied should you want it lower. It arrives without shades, so the arms and lamps carry the look. The finish is antique brass, warm and gently darkened rather than bright, and we like it against white plaster, painted timber or a deeper wall colour.

We reach for it where a long pendant would be in the way: a landing, a hallway with a modest ceiling, a bedroom, or a small dining table. It suits older houses and low ceilings, where a chandelier look is wanted without the depth of one. The upturned holders keep glare out of eye level, and a full set of candle lamps gives ample output for a main light. Dimming works with dimmable lamps and a compatible dimmer. Keep it to dry rooms indoors, away from bathroom zones and steam.

The antique brass finish runs over the stem, the arms and the lamp cups, so tones vary a little from one arm to the next. Dust it with a dry cloth now and then and leave metal creams alone; they strip the aged colour and leave bright patches that will not blend back. It has the feel of a small chandelier without the drop. It carries a one year warranty. Lamps are not included, and small candle LEDs are what we would choose: clear glass to pick up the brass, or frosted for a softer light.
