Description

Three E14 candle lamps sit close together on one satin nickel stand, with an inline switch on the flex so you are not reaching behind furniture every night. It comes without shades, and that is rather the point: the fabric, the shape and the depth are yours to pick, and the same base reads quite differently under little pleated candle shades than it does under plain drums. Fit dimmable lamps, add a compatible dimmer, and it will dim.

At 24cm across and 52cm tall it is a small lamp that still holds its ground, which suits a hallway console, a dressing table or a generous bedside where a single shaded lamp would look mean. Because the light is spread across the holders rather than gathered under one shade, the glow lifts a whole corner instead of pooling, and it earns its place as the low, warm layer in a sitting room lit mostly from the ceiling. It also does well on a wide sideboard, where you want light on the surface without a pendant hanging over it. We stock E14 candle lamps alongside it, and we would reach for warm white LEDs here, which keep the heat down inside close-fitting shades.

Satin nickel is a soft, low-sheen metal finish, so smudges and dust are far less obvious on it than they are on bright chrome. To keep it that way, unplug the lamp, run a barely damp cloth over the metal and dry it at once; polishes and creams will dull the sheen, so leave them in the cupboard. Nickel sits happily with brushed steel kitchen fittings and with warm woods, which is why it moves so easily between rooms. It carries a one year warranty. Shades and lamps are chosen to suit and are not included.
