Description

Three slender arms rise from a single stem, each one ending in a small candle lampholder, all in an antique brass finish that softens the light rather than bouncing it about. It stands 52cm tall and measures 24cm across the arms, so it reads as a tall, narrow shape on a table rather than a wide one. An inline switch on the flex keeps the control within easy reach, and it arrives without a shade, so the shade is a decision you make to suit the room.

This suits the spots where a table lamp has to do proper work: a hall console, a sideboard behind a sofa, the corner of a desk. With the light shared across the arms rather than coming from a single point, it is softer and wider than you might expect from something this slim, which is why we reach for it in sitting rooms and bedrooms where a small lamp can look mean. It will dim with suitable lamps and a compatible dimmer, both bought separately, and we would fit warm white LED candle lamps for evening use.

The frame carries an antique brass finish, gently aged so small marks and fingerprints do not show the way they do on bright polished brass. A dry duster run over the arms and stem is usually enough; if more is needed, a barely damp cloth followed by a dry one will do it, and polishes are best kept away from the finish. Plug it into an ordinary household socket in a dry room indoors. We stock it in antique brass, and it takes well to small pleated or hard-backed shades in linen or card if you want a traditional look. It carries a one year warranty. The shade and lamps are bought separately.
