Description

Three E14 lampholders sit at the top of a slim standard, spread across a 30cm head so light falls outward rather than gathering in a tight beam. Satin nickel gives a soft, low shine silver that stays quiet against most wall colours and throws back little glare. A foot switch does the switching, so there is no reaching up and no hunting along the wall in the dark. Total height is 1.6m, which puts the lamps close to eye level for anyone seated nearby. It comes without shades, leaving the shape and fabric up to you.

We would put it beside a sofa or an armchair, where light shared across the top of the lamp is kinder than a ceiling fitting doing all the work. It earns a place in a reading corner, at the foot of a bed, or in a home office where you want the room lit rather than the screen. The foot switch suits anyone who would rather not stoop to a socket. Because the shades are chosen separately, it can be dressed to suit a room you already like; we would keep them small and matching so the head stays tidy.

The satin nickel finish runs the length of the stand, an even brushed silver with none of the hard flash of chrome. It is a double insulated fitting for indoor rooms only, so keep it clear of bathrooms and anywhere it could be splashed. Cleaning asks little: unplug it, let the lamps go cold, then take a dry duster over the stand and down the flex, and keep polishes and sprays away, as they can dull satin plating in time. It carries a one year warranty. We stock it as a base to build on, so shades and lamps are bought separately.
