Description

We stock the Bangkok as a single LED pendant for over a table or island, hung on black cable to a drop of 3495mm. A black metal rod runs through the fitting, linking a smaller amber sphere at the top to a larger amber glass dome below, and an integrated 12W LED inside the dome gives 1300 lumens of warm white light at 3000K. The amber glass softens the output, so you get a warmer look than clear glass would.

It is made for dining tables, breakfast bars and kitchen islands, where the LED throws focused task light down through the dome in a wide 120 degree spread. The 3495mm drop suits taller ceilings from around 2.4m upwards, and we would usually hang the pendant 700 to 800mm above the surface below. Shorter drops in the same range are also available at 3480mm and 3580mm if you need a different height.

The metal parts are powder-coated in matt black and the amber glass is hand-blown, so a little tonal variation between pieces is normal. The LED runs on a 50Hz AC 220-240V mains supply, has a CRI of 80 for true-looking colour, and carries an IP20 rating, which keeps it to dry indoor rooms rather than bathrooms or outdoor spots. It is not dimmable and the LED is built in, so there is no separate bulb to buy or replace.

Frequently Asked

How far does this pendant hang down?

It hangs to an overall drop of 3495mm on its black cable and ceiling rose. That suits ceilings of about 2.4m or higher, and we would usually set it 700 to 800mm above the table or island below.

Is it dimmable?

No. The integrated 12W LED runs at a fixed 1300 lumens of warm white (3000K) light, so it is not designed to work with a dimmer switch.

Do I need to buy a bulb?

No. The LED is built into the amber glass dome, so there is no separate bulb to buy, fit or replace. It arrives ready to wire in to a 220-240V mains supply.

Can I use it in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms only, so it is best kept to dining rooms, kitchens and living spaces rather than bathrooms or anywhere exposed to moisture.
