Description
The Bamako is a glass globe wall light: a single 25cm sphere of glass beneath a brass holder, carried on a bent arm that curves out from a round wall plate. It comes in Antique Silver, Antique Brass, Polished Brass or Satin Brass, with Clear or Opal glass, so you choose the metal and the glass separately. Clear glass lets the bulb show through and gives a bright, open light; Opal glass softens it into an even glow across the whole globe. It stands 38cm tall and 25cm across, and reaches 32cm out from the wall.
A wall light of this size suits a living room, a bedroom or a dining room, and a pair either side of a bed, a fireplace or a sideboard gives a balanced, welcoming light. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. It takes one E27 bulb, up to 40W per bulb, and bulbs are sold separately, so you can choose the brightness and colour of light that suits your room. It fits on a wall and is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician.
The Bamako is made from brass and glass, a pairing that suits period and modern rooms alike, and it is a Class I fitting. Every light is made to order for you in Ireland, in the finish and glass you choose. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase; bulbs are not covered. As a practical note, check the space where it will hang: the globe reaches 32cm out from the wall, so allow room for it to clear a headboard, an open door or anyone passing. Our photographs show the Antique Silver finish.
