Description

The Balance is a 455mm diameter drum pendant light with a white fabric shade and polished nickel metal trim at the base. A matching white ceiling rose and adjustable cable suspension allows the pendant to hang anywhere between 334mm and 1234mm from the ceiling, making it adaptable to both low and standard ceiling heights. The fitting takes a single E27 bulb up to 60W, sold separately.

Designed for use over dining tables, kitchen islands and in living rooms, the Balance provides diffused ambient light through the white fabric drum while the white laminate lining on the inside of the shade reflects light downward and outward. The 455mm diameter suits typical 1.2-1.8m dining tables or kitchen island runs up to 2m when used singly, or can be grouped in pairs or threes along longer islands. The cable is height-adjustable on installation but not via a pulley mechanism once fitted.

The polished nickel trim at the base of the drum gives a reflective metallic accent without the warmth of brass or the coolness of chrome, sitting between the two in tone. The white fabric shade adds texture and softness to the design while maintaining a clean, neutral appearance that works in both cool-toned and warm-toned interiors. The combination of white and polished nickel pairs well with Scandi, coastal, modern and minimalist schemes.

What bulb does it take?

The Balance takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 8-12W and 2700K-3000K for ambient dining or kitchen lighting.

What size table does it suit?

The 455mm diameter works over dining tables from 1.2m to 1.8m in length when used as a single pendant. For longer kitchen islands or tables above 2m, consider hanging two or three Balance pendants spaced evenly along the length.

Can the height be adjusted after installation?

The drop is adjustable between 334mm and 1234mm during installation by shortening or lengthening the cable inside the ceiling rose. Once fitted and the rose is closed, the height is fixed and cannot be changed without re-opening the ceiling rose.

Is the shade fabric or metal?

The shade is fabric with a white laminate lining on the inside to reflect light. The polished nickel trim at the base of the drum is metal. The fabric gives a softer appearance than a metal shade and diffuses the light more evenly.
