Description

The Bahula is a garden bench in solid iron, 130cm wide, 90cm high and 68cm deep. The back is made in two parts: an openwork lattice of interlacing diamonds across the top, and a row of short plain spindles below it. The seat is flat straight slats. The arms curve out from the back uprights and sweep down in one line to meet the front legs.

The seat sits 43cm from the ground and runs 128cm across by 50cm deep, which is a bench for two. At 130cm wide and 68cm deep it goes along a wall, under a window or across the end of a path, and at 25.6kg it is heavy enough to stay put on gravel. It is made for outdoor use. Scatter cushions soften the slats.

It is iron throughout, the frame, the back and the seat slats alike, under a rust finish that suits an outdoor setting. The lattice is worked as interlacing bars rather than cut from a sheet. The Bahula range also runs to a matching chair.

43cm from the ground.

Can it stay outside?

It is made for outdoor use. Storing it away or indoors over the winter months, and through spells of bad weather, will make it last longer.

Iron throughout, under a rust finish.

How do I look after it?

Wipe it regularly with a damp cloth so dirt and mould do not build up, and keep abrasive cleaning products away from it, since they damage the finish.
