B.Ambi Plus Backlit LED Demister Bathroom Mirror 70cm

B.Ambi 1 Plus is a square backlit mirror 70cm each way with a heating mat behind the glass. The light comes from behind all four edges and falls on the wall as a halo, leaving the reflection itself unlit, and a touch sensor in the lower edge switches it. The heating mat is what separates this from the standard version: it warms the glass so the mirror clears while the room is still full of steam.

That makes it a shower room mirror rather than a bathroom mirror in general. It is rated bathroom proof. Backlighting behind the glass lights a face evenly, without the shadows a downlight above a mirror throws, and the demister means you can use it as soon as you step out rather than waiting or wiping. It hangs in one direction, since the sensor sits at the bottom. At 10kg and 3cm deep it is a one person lift, with two screws, washers and plugs supplied and nothing to assemble.

The mirror is mirrored glass on a metal carrier with an integrated LED and a heating mat. Clean it with cleaner sprayed onto a soft cloth rather than onto the glass, and keep liquid away from the sensor and the lit edges. The mat warms the whole pane rather than a patch of it, so the mirror clears evenly instead of opening a clear window in the middle of a fogged sheet. The same square is made without it, at a lower price, if the room is well ventilated enough not to need it. Seven year warranty on the mirror and two years on the LED, made in Belgium.
