Description

The Ayr is a flush ceiling light: a single glass globe held close to the ceiling on a brass holder and round ceiling plate, lit by one E27 bulb. It is made of brass and glass and measures 21cm tall and 12cm across, so it keeps a low profile on the ceiling and never hangs down into the room. It comes in Polished Brass, Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Natural Brass, Satin Brass, Matt Black or White, the painted finishes being Matt Black RAL 9005 and White RAL 9010. The globe comes in Clear, Opal or Prismatic glass: Clear lets you see the bulb inside, while Opal is a milky white glass that hides it.

The Ayr is rated IP65, which makes it a good choice for a bathroom: a compact glass globe on the ceiling gives clear, even light, and the rating means it can be fitted where it will meet steam and splashes. It is just as much at home in a hallway, where its shallow height suits a lower ceiling and a few of them in a line can light the way along the hall. It is an indoor light, so we suggest it only for rooms inside the home. The choice of finishes lets you match it to the room around it: one of the brass finishes beside brass taps or door handles, Antique Silver for a cooler look, or Matt Black or White for a plainer scheme.

Each Ayr is made to order for you in Ireland, in brass and glass. It is wired in to the mains and is for a qualified electrician to install. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase; bulbs are not covered.
