Description
The Averra is a 600mm tall oval wall light cut from natural Spanish alabaster, with a recessed brass spine running vertically through the centre and an integrated 9W LED behind it. The capsule-shaped alabaster body is 150mm wide and projects just 70mm from the wall, so the fitting reads as a single carved oval with a glowing brass slot at its core.
Designed as decorative ambient lighting for hallways, stairwells, bedside walls and bathroom vanity positions, the Averra works either as a single fitting or paired symmetrically either side of a mirror, headboard or doorway. The 70mm projection keeps the light close to the wall in narrow corridors and beside beds, where deeper fittings can intrude. The 3000K colour temperature gives a warm white light that suits living areas and en-suites rather than task-focused work spaces.
The body is solid copper backed with hand-cut alabaster, and each panel shows different mineral veining, clouding and tonal variation depending on the section of stone it was cut from. When the LED is on, those natural patterns become more pronounced and the alabaster itself becomes the diffuser, casting a soft halo around the perimeter of the oval. The brushed brass spine introduces a warm metallic line that contrasts with the cooler tones in the stone without overpowering it.

Frequently Asked
Is the Averra suitable for bathrooms?
The Specification tab does not list an IP rating for this fitting, so it should be treated as an indoor fitting for dry locations. For bathroom zones 1 and 2, an IP-rated fitting is required by UK wiring regulations. It can be used in zone 3 (outside the 0.6m boundary from a bath or shower) subject to a qualified electrician's assessment.
Does each alabaster panel look the same?
No. Each panel is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, clouding and tonal variation differ between individual pieces. These markings become more pronounced when the LED is on and are a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect.
Can the LED be replaced?
The LED is integrated into the fitting rather than a replaceable bulb. The 9W LED module is rated for long service life at 3000K. The fitting carries a 2-year warranty.
How is the alabaster cleaned?
Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe the surface with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners.
