Description

The Averra is a 500mm alabaster wall light built around an elongated, pill-shaped panel of natural Spanish alabaster with a recessed brass spine running through the centre. An integrated 8W LED behind the spine casts warm 3000K light forward through the alabaster and out along the rounded edges, turning the stone itself into the diffuser. The fitting projects just 70mm from the wall.

Designed for hallways, stairwells, bedrooms and bathrooms outside zone splash areas, the Averra works well flanking a mirror, framing a bedhead, or marking the rhythm of a corridor at intervals. The vertical orientation suits taller wall sections where a horizontal fitting would feel cramped, and the slim 140mm width keeps the light close to the plane of the wall without intruding into walking space.

Each alabaster panel shows different mineral veining and tonal variation depending on the section of stone it was cut from, so no two Averra lights look identical when lit. The solid copper backing carries the brass finish on the visible spine, providing a warm metallic counterpoint to the soft white stone. Hard-wired to 230V mains, the Averra has no visible cable run and sits flat against the wall on a concealed mounting plate.

Is the Averra dimmable?

The integrated LED is rated at 8W on 230V mains. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model in use, so please contact us before pairing the light with a dimmer to confirm.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The Averra is supplied without a published IP rating. It is suitable for general indoor use including bedrooms, hallways and dressing areas, but should not be installed inside bathroom zones 0, 1 or 2. For bathroom use, fit it well outside the splash zones around basins, baths and showers.

Does the alabaster vary between pieces?

Yes. Each panel is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so veining, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. The variation is most visible when the light is switched on and is a feature of the natural stone rather than a defect.

How is it mounted to the wall?

The Averra is hard-wired to a 230V mains supply and fixes to the wall on a concealed mounting plate. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician, ideally with the cable feed positioned behind the centre of the fitting so no cable is visible on the wall surface.
