Ava 9 Light Crystal Sphere Pendant Light - Polished Chrome

The Ava is a 600mm spherical pendant light built from interconnected polished chrome rings densely covered with faceted octagonal crystal beads. Nine G9 bulbs sit inside the sphere, each positioned to project light through the crystal lattice, creating layers of refraction and scatter across the surrounding surface. The chrome frame forms the structural skeleton while the crystals provide the optical texture.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.6m or higher, the Ava works as a centrepiece over a table or in the centre of a room where its spherical form can be appreciated from multiple angles. The adjustable drop ranges from 800mm to 2200mm, allowing the pendant to be set 700-900mm above a dining surface or lower into a double-height void. The polished chrome canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and conceals the cable run inside the chain.

The octagonal crystal beads are arranged in rows following the curvature of the chrome rings, with minimal spacing between them so the sphere reads as densely textured rather than sparse. When lit, the crystals catch and bend the light from the nine internal bulbs, producing a shimmering effect that shifts as you move around the room. The 14kg weight gives the pendant substantial presence and requires secure ceiling fixings — the fitting is designed for solid joist mounts rather than plasterboard alone.

The polished chrome finish provides high reflectivity that amplifies the sparkle from the crystal beads and pairs with cooler-toned interiors, stainless steel appliances and contemporary furniture. What bulbs does the Ava take?

The pendant takes nine G9 capsule bulbs, each up to 33W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED G9 bulbs at 2700K-3000K to complement the chrome and crystal aesthetic.

Is the Ava dimmable?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable G9 bulbs and pair the pendant with a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself supports dimming, but non-dimmable LED bulbs will not dim and may flicker.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 800mm minimum drop plus the 600mm sphere diameter means the lowest point sits 1400mm below the ceiling rose. For rooms with standard 2.4m ceilings this leaves only 1m clearance, which is tight for walking underneath. Ceiling heights of 2.6m or above give more comfortable clearance, or the pendant can be positioned over a table where head clearance is less critical.

How is the pendant cleaned?

The crystal beads and chrome frame collect dust over time. Switch off the power and allow the bulbs to cool completely, then wipe the chrome rings with a dry microfibre cloth and use a soft brush or slightly damp cloth for the crystal beads. Avoid soaking the electrical components or using chemical sprays directly on the fitting.
