Ava 9 Light Crystal Flush Ceiling Light - Polished Chrome

The Ava is a 550mm diameter crystal flush ceiling light with nine G9 bulb fittings arranged inside a hemispherical bowl formed from hundreds of individual clear crystal beads strung on a polished chrome wire frame. The crystal beads are densely packed across the entire surface, creating a textured dome that sits 180mm below the ceiling and refracts light outward in multiple directions when the bulbs are lit.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and hallways with standard 2.4m ceiling heights, the Ava provides both ambient and decorative lighting without requiring the ceiling clearance of a traditional chandelier. The nine G9 fittings (bulbs sold separately) allow the total light output to be scaled by choosing lower or higher wattage bulbs up to the 33W maximum per socket. The polished chrome frame and hardware reflect both the bulb light and daylight, reinforcing the sparkle effect from the crystal beads.

The crystal beads are faceted on multiple planes, so each one catches light differently depending on viewing angle. The combined effect when lit is a diffused glow rather than sharp downward beam, making the Ava suitable for general room lighting rather than task lighting. What bulbs does it take?

The Ava takes nine G9 capsule bulbs, each rated up to 33W maximum. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with LED G9 bulbs between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for warm ambient lighting. Total light output depends on the wattage and lumen rating of the bulbs you choose.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. At 180mm projection from the ceiling, the Ava works in rooms with standard 2.4m ceiling heights. It provides the visual impact of a chandelier without requiring the vertical clearance that pendant or suspension fittings need.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when fitted with dimmable G9 bulbs and connected to a compatible dimmer switch. The dimmer must be rated for the total wattage of all nine bulbs combined. Check bulb packaging for dimmer compatibility before purchasing.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off the mains supply before cleaning. Use a dry microfibre cloth to wipe each crystal bead gently. For more thorough cleaning, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal frame or allowing water to reach the bulb sockets. Do not use chemical sprays or polishes on the crystal.
