Description

The Ava is a 450mm spherical pendant light built from a French gold lattice of interlinked metal rings, each ring holding an octagon-cut crystal. Seven G9 bulbs (sold separately) sit inside the sphere, casting light through the crystals and onto the metal framework. The result is a shimmering orb where the light refracts through hundreds of crystal facets and reflects off the warm gold metalwork.

Designed for dining rooms, entrance halls and stairwells with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Ava provides both ambient and decorative light. The 710-2170mm adjustable drop allows the pendant to hang 700-800mm above a dining table in standard-height rooms, or to be extended in double-height hallways and stairwells where the sphere becomes a centrepiece feature. The French gold canopy and chain match the frame, and the canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses.

The lattice construction gives the pendant an open, airy presence despite its 7.3kg weight and substantial diameter. Each octagon crystal is set into the rings by hand during assembly, and the spacing between rings is calibrated to distribute light evenly without creating harsh shadows. The French gold finish is warmer than polished brass and less reflective than bright gold, sitting comfortably in both traditional and contemporary interiors. The crystals catch daylight during the day and multiply the light output when the bulbs are switched on.

What bulbs does the Ava take?

The pendant takes seven G9 capsule bulbs up to 33W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with G9 LED bulbs in the 3-5W range at 2700K-3000K for warm white light. Use dimmable G9 LEDs if you intend to fit a dimmer switch.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use dimmable G9 bulbs. The pendant itself has no electronics — dimming capability depends entirely on the bulbs chosen and the dimmer switch installed on the circuit.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop of 710mm means the pendant works in rooms with 2.4m ceilings when hung 700-800mm above a dining table. The maximum drop of 2170mm allows the Ava to be extended in double-height entrance halls or stairwells.

How is the pendant cleaned?

Switch off the power at the consumer unit before cleaning. Wipe the French gold frame with a dry microfibre cloth. For the crystals, use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water, wiping each octagon facet gently. Do not use household sprays or chemical cleaners on either the crystals or the metalwork.
