Ava 6 Light Crystal Flush Ceiling Light - Polished Chrome

The Ava is a 480mm flush ceiling light built from a polished chrome frame supporting a hemispherical dome of faceted clear crystals. Six G9 bulbs sit inside the dome, casting light through the crystal elements which refract and multiply the illumination across the ceiling and into the room. The flush-mount design sits close to the ceiling with a total drop of 150mm, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where a pendant would hang too low.

Designed for hallways, bedrooms, lounges and dining rooms where both ambient lighting and decorative presence are needed, the Ava provides general room illumination rather than task or accent lighting. The six bulbs are arranged evenly inside the dome to give balanced light distribution. The crystals are individually set into a metal mesh backing, creating a continuous surface of faceted glass that catches and reflects light from multiple angles. At 4kg, the fitting needs secure fixing to a ceiling joist or suitable backing plate.

The polished chrome finish on the frame and mounting plate reflects both natural and artificial light, amplifying the brightness from the G9 bulbs. Each crystal element is cut with multiple facets, so when the light is on the ceiling appears to be covered in small points of refracted light rather than six discrete bulb positions. The 480mm diameter suits rooms between 12-18m², though the light output depends entirely on the wattage and type of G9 bulbs chosen (bulbs sold separately). The Ava accepts dimmable G9 bulbs and pairs with a compatible dimmer switch to adjust light levels from full output to a low ambient glow.

What bulbs does the Ava need?

The Ava takes six G9 capsule bulbs, maximum 33W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose G9 LED bulbs between 2.5-5W in 2700K-3000K warm white for general room lighting. The fitting accepts halogen G9 bulbs as well, but LED bulbs run cooler and last longer.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The flush-mount design has a total projection of 150mm from the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights below 2.4m where pendant lights would hang too low. The 480mm diameter works in rooms from approximately 12-18m².

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, if dimmable G9 bulbs are fitted and the light is controlled by a compatible dimmer switch. Not all G9 LED bulbs are dimmable, so check the bulb packaging before purchasing. The dimmer must also be rated for LED loads if using LED bulbs.

How is the crystal dome cleaned?

Turn off the power at the mains before cleaning. Wipe the crystals with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For deeper cleaning, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water can be used, but avoid soaking the metal frame or allowing water into the bulb sockets. Do not use household sprays or chemical cleaners on the crystals.
