The Ava is a 480mm flush ceiling light built around a domed frame of French gold-finished metal set with hundreds of faceted clear crystal beads. Six G9 bulb fittings sit inside the dome, casting light outward through the crystal layer to create refracted patterns across walls and ceilings. The 150mm projection from ceiling to base keeps the fitting within reach for rooms with 2.4m ceiling heights.

Designed for living rooms, dining rooms and hallways in traditional and contemporary homes, the Ava provides both ambient light and decorative presence. The French gold finish on the metal framework reads as a warm mid-tone brass rather than bright polished brass, pairing with oak, walnut and other warm-toned timber furniture without clashing with cooler metallics elsewhere in the room. The crystal arrangement forms a hemisphere that catches daylight during the day and becomes the focal point when lit at night.

Each crystal bead is cut with multiple facets and hand-strung onto the metal wire framework, so the overall effect is dense coverage rather than sparse detailing. At 4kg fitted weight, the Ava requires a ceiling rose and fixings rated for that load. The fitting is dimmable when paired with dimmable G9 LED bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch, allowing control over light levels from full output down to a low ambient glow. The six-bulb configuration spreads light evenly across a 4m x 4m room without creating strong directional shadows.

The French gold finish differs from polished brass or antique brass by sitting between the two in tone — warmer than brushed chrome but less reflective than mirror-polished brass. What bulbs does the Ava take?

The fitting takes six G9 capsule bulbs, each rated up to 33W maximum. G9 bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit 3-5W LED G9 bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) to achieve sufficient light output without exceeding the wattage limit.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 150mm depth projection makes the Ava appropriate for rooms with 2.4m ceiling heights, as it sits flush to the ceiling rather than hanging down on a drop rod or chain.

Can the Ava be dimmed?

The fitting itself is dimmable when fitted with dimmable G9 LED bulbs and connected to a compatible dimmer switch. Halogen G9 bulbs are also dimmable, but LED is more energy-efficient and produces less heat inside the crystal dome.

What size room does it suit?

The 480mm diameter and six-bulb configuration provide sufficient ambient light for a room up to 4m x 4m (living room, dining room, bedroom). Larger open-plan spaces may benefit from two Ava fittings or additional wall/floor lighting to avoid dark corners.
