Ava 12 Light Crystal Sphere Pendant Light - Polished Chrome

The Ava is an 800mm spherical pendant light built from a polished chrome lattice frame supporting several hundred clear octagon crystals. Twelve G9 bulbs (sold separately) sit within the sphere, each rated to 33W maximum. The lattice structure consists of interconnected metal rings, each holding individual octagon crystals that catch and refract light from multiple angles when the bulbs are lit.

Designed for large dining rooms, double-height entrance halls and living rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Ava functions as both decorative and ambient lighting. The 1000mm minimum drop is adjustable up to 2900mm on installation via the chain, allowing the pendant to be positioned 800-1200mm above a dining table or lowered significantly in two-storey spaces. The polished chrome canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and the chain conceals the cable run.

The 800mm diameter gives the Ava substantial presence without overwhelming rooms under 20m². The open lattice weighs 25.5kg despite the crystal coverage, with the weight distributed across the chain and ceiling fixing. Each octagon crystal is cut with faceted edges that multiply light points when viewed from different angles, creating a shimmering effect under both daylight and artificial light. The polished chrome finish reflects surrounding colours and amplifies brightness in the immediate area beneath the pendant.

The Ava accepts any G9 capsule bulb (LED, halogen or eco-halogen) and is dimmable when paired with dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. LED G9 bulbs at 2700K-3000K typically provide the warmest light through the crystals, while 4000K produces a cooler, brighter effect suitable for contemporary interiors.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 1000mm minimum drop plus the 800mm sphere diameter means the bottom of the pendant sits 1800mm below the ceiling at its shortest setting. For a dining table, the pendant typically hangs 800-1000mm above the table surface, requiring a ceiling height of around 2.7m minimum. The chain extends to 2900mm for higher ceilings or double-height spaces.

How is the crystal maintained?

Switch off the power and allow bulbs to cool. Wipe each octagon crystal gently with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For more thorough cleaning, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal frame or using chemical sprays which can leave residue on the faceted surfaces.
