Description

The Ava is an 800mm diameter crystal sphere pendant built around a French gold metal lattice frame supporting hundreds of clear octagon crystals. Twelve G9 bulbs (sold separately) sit within the frame, casting light through the crystal-dense surface and creating layered reflections across the octagon facets. The French gold finish brings a warm metallic tone to the geometric structure, contrasting with the clear crystal transparency.

Designed for double-height entrance halls, large dining rooms and open-plan living spaces with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Ava functions as both ambient and decorative lighting. The adjustable drop ranges from 1000mm to 2900mm on installation, allowing the sphere to be positioned according to ceiling height and furniture clearance. At 25.5kg the pendant requires secure ceiling support — check your ceiling structure can support the weight before installation.

The open lattice construction gives the sphere visual lightness despite its 800mm scale, with the metal rings creating a geometric pattern visible when the pendant is unlit. The octagon crystals are individually positioned across the frame, covering the surface densely enough to diffuse direct glare from the G9 bulbs while still allowing light to pass through the structure. The French gold canopy and chain carry the warm metal finish from ceiling to sphere, maintaining tonal continuity across the vertical run.

What bulbs does it take?

The Ava takes twelve G9 capsule bulbs up to 33W each, sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED G9 bulbs between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for ambient lighting. The pendant is dimmable when fitted with dimmable G9 bulbs and paired with a compatible dimmer switch.

How is the pendant cleaned?

The octagon crystals can be wiped with a dry microfibre cloth while the pendant is switched off and cool. For deeper cleaning, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable on the crystals — avoid soaking the metal frame or using chemical sprays. The French gold finish can be wiped gently with a dry cloth to remove dust.

Can the ceiling support the weight?

At 25.5kg the Ava requires a ceiling joist or solid structural support capable of holding at least 30kg. Standard plasterboard ceiling roses are not sufficient — the pendant must be fixed into a joist, beam or reinforced mounting point. Consult a qualified electrician if you are unsure about your ceiling structure.
