Description

This AV:Link USB 2.0 extension lead gives you an extra 5 metres of reach between a USB device and your computer or hub. It has a Type A plug at one end and a Type A socket at the other, so you plug it into your existing USB cable or port and connect your device to the far end. It suits situations where a printer, webcam, external drive or wireless dongle sits too far from the machine to reach comfortably.

The cable measures 4.3mm in diameter and uses a 4x0.15mm CCA conductor set with 32x0.10mm CCA braid, cotton reinforced for a bit of extra strength along its length. It runs to the USB 2.0 standard, which handles data transfer along with power for devices that draw it over the connection. The plug and socket are both standard Type A, the flat rectangular connector you find on most computers and laptops.

We supply the lead in a sealed retail bag, so it stays clean and tidy until you need it. At 5 metres it covers most desk-to-tower or desk-to-shelf gaps without leaving you short. If you want a longer run, you can chain it with a second lead, though keeping to a single length gives you the most reliable connection.
