Description

The AV:Link twin RG6 satellite extension kit provides 3m of twin coaxial cable with pre-fitted F-type connectors and two F-type couplers for extending or relocating satellite receivers. Each cable carries a 1mm copper-clad steel (CCS) conductor surrounded by 4.6mm foam polyethylene dielectric, aluminium foil screen and aluminium braid, giving 75 ohm impedance for digital satellite signal transmission.

Designed for Sky and Freesat box installations where the existing cable run is too short, the kit allows the receiver to be moved to a different room or position without re-running cable from the LNB. The pre-fitted F-type connectors screw directly onto the receiver's input ports, while the two included F-type couplers join the extension cable to the existing cable run. This avoids the need for crimping or soldering on site.

The twin cable configuration carries two independent signals — typically used for dual-tuner receivers that record one channel while watching another, or for connecting two separate outputs from a quad LNB to a single receiver. The 6.6mm diameter per cable is standard RG6 gauge, matching most UK satellite installations installed since the mid-2000s. The zinc alloy F-type connectors resist corrosion better than brass-plated steel in damp environments such as loft spaces.

Frequently Asked

What's included in the kit?

The kit contains one 3m twin RG6 cable with pre-fitted F-type connectors at both ends (four connectors total, two per cable end) and two F-type barrel couplers for joining to existing cable runs.

Will this work with my existing satellite cable?

The kit works with any standard RG6 coaxial cable fitted with F-type connectors. If your existing cable has a different connector type or is a different gauge, you may need an adapter or a different extension solution.

Can I use this outdoors?

The cable and connectors are rated for indoor use and sheltered outdoor runs such as under eaves or in conduit. For fully exposed outdoor runs, use a kit with weatherproof connectors and UV-resistant cable jacket.

What does twin cable mean?

Twin cable carries two independent coaxial cables side-by-side, typically used for dual-tuner satellite receivers that need two separate LNB outputs to record one channel while watching another.
