Description

This AV:Link HDMI lead uses active fibre optic (AOC) technology to carry the HDMI signal, which lets it run over much longer distances than standard copper cables without the signal degrading. At 5m, it's well suited to wall or ceiling mounted screens and projectors where the source sits some way from the display.

It supports video resolutions up to 8K Ultra High Definition at 60Hz, with a video bandwidth of up to 48Gb/s. The lead is HDCP 2.2 compliant and handles resolutions up to 7680 x 4320p, so it works with current 8K and 4K sources. The fibre optic core keeps the signal clean along its full length, which is where thinner copper leads often struggle.

The cable has a slim 4.8mm outer diameter, giving it plenty of flexibility for tidy routing and easier runs through conduit or behind furniture. The ends use alloy headshells with gold plated connectors, measuring just 19mm wide and 9mm high, which helps them fit into tight spaces behind slimline sets. In the UK an HDMI lead is often just called a cable, and both terms refer to the same thing here.
