Description
The AV:Link 4K HDMI extender kit transmits HDMI signals up to 100m over a single Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable, replacing bulky HDMI cable runs with standard network cabling. The kit consists of a transmitter unit (TX) and a receiver unit (RX), each measuring 82x45x18mm, with the transmitter connecting to the HDMI source and the receiver connecting to the display or projector. Video resolution supports up to 3840x2160 at 30Hz (4K UHD) using HDMI 1.4a protocol, with HDCP 2.2 compliance for protected content.
Designed for home cinema, digital signage and commercial AV installations where the source and display are separated by long cable runs, the extender eliminates the signal degradation and cost of 100m HDMI cable. The IR-TX and R/L ports on the units allow bi-directional infrared control, so a remote control at the display end can operate the source device at the transmitter end without line-of-sight. The 3.5mm stereo output on the receiver extracts audio from the HDMI signal for connection to headphones, powered speakers or an external amplifier, independent of the HDMI output to the display.
Both units feature ventilation slots on the top surface to dissipate heat during operation, and each is powered by a dedicated 5Vdc 1A power supply (included). The gold-plated HDMI connectors reduce contact oxidation over time, and the units ship with rack-mounting brackets for installation in AV racks or under-desk mounting. The extender supports DTS-HD, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, Dolby AC3 and DSD audio formats, with a maximum bandwidth of 340MHz and baud rate of 3x3.4Gbps. Cat5e or Cat6 shielded twisted pair (STP/FTP) cable is required for the link and is not supplied with the kit.

Frequently Asked
What cable type is required for the 100m connection?
The extender requires Cat5e or Cat6 shielded twisted pair (STP or FTP) cable between the transmitter and receiver units. Unshielded cable (UTP) is not recommended as it may cause signal interference over long runs. The cable is not included with the kit.
Does the IR remote control work in both directions?
Yes. The IR-TX and R/L ports support bi-directional infrared control, allowing a remote at the display end to control the source device at the transmitter end, or vice versa. IR emitter and receiver cables are required and may be sold separately.
Can I extract audio while still sending HDMI to the display?
Yes. The 3.5mm stereo output on the receiver unit extracts audio from the HDMI signal simultaneously with the HDMI output to the display. This allows connection to headphones, powered speakers or an external amplifier without interrupting the video signal.
What's the maximum resolution supported?
The extender supports resolutions up to 3840x2160 (4K UHD) at 30Hz using HDMI 1.4a. It is HDCP 2.2 compliant for protected content. Higher refresh rates such as 4K at 60Hz are not supported by this model.
