Description

The Aurelian is a 560mm vertical wall light built around two slender Spanish alabaster columns mounted above and below a compact matt black backplate. Each column houses an integrated LED, totalling 8W at 3000K, so the alabaster itself acts as the diffuser and the fitting throws soft warm light both upwards and downwards from a single wall point.

With a 75mm width and 90mm projection, the Aurelian suits narrow walls where a wider fitting would feel imposing: hallway pinch points, the wall between two doorways, the strip of plaster beside a bedroom mirror, or either side of a vanity unit. The vertical arrangement makes it a natural choice for installation in pairs to flank a bed, a console table or a piece of artwork, where the symmetry reinforces a room's central axis.

The columns are cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so each piece shows different mineral veining and tonal variation that becomes visible when the LED is on. The bracket and central stem are finished in a low-sheen matt black that frames the stone without competing with it, and the rounded backplate softens what would otherwise be a strictly linear silhouette. Combined height of 560mm and shallow 90mm projection keep the fitting close to the wall.

Does the Aurelian come with bulbs?

The light source is integrated, so no separate bulbs are needed or supplied. Each alabaster column houses its own LED module, with a combined output of 8W at 3000K warm white, running from a 230V mains supply.

Is it suitable for bathrooms?

The Aurelian does not carry a stated IP rating, so it should be treated as a dry-location fitting. It is well suited to bedrooms, hallways and living spaces, but should not be installed in bathroom zones 0, 1 or 2 where IP-rated fittings are required.

Can it be installed horizontally?

The fitting is designed to mount vertically, with one alabaster column above the backplate and one below. Horizontal installation is not recommended, as the proportions and the way light is distributed are intended for the vertical orientation.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is a soft, porous stone. Wipe each column gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. Avoid household sprays, polishes and chemical cleaners, and do not soak the stone — for stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable.
