Description

The Aston is a 320mm square lantern chandelier built around a reinforced brass alloy frame with bevelled glass panels on all four sides, housing four E14 candle bulbs (sold separately) on an internal cluster. The antique brass finish shows tonal variation across the frame, with darker patina in recessed areas and lighter highlights on edges and corners, giving the piece the appearance of aged metalwork.

Designed for entrance halls, stairwells and dining rooms with ceiling heights of 2.7m or above, the Aston provides both ambient light through the glass enclosure and decorative presence through the lantern silhouette. The adjustable chain allows the drop to be set between 780mm and 1900mm on installation, making it suitable for standard-height ceilings (780-1000mm drop) or double-height spaces and stairwells (up to 1900mm). The bevelled edges on the glass panels refract light at different angles depending on viewing position, adding visual depth to the lantern structure.

The 9.9kg weight reflects the use of solid brass alloy rather than plated steel, and the frame requires secure ceiling fixings rated for the combined load of the fitting, chain and glass panels. The 320mm square footprint suits rooms of 12-20m² when hung as a central feature, or smaller spaces when positioned over a console table or at the base of a stairwell. The Aston uses four E14 (small Edison screw) candle bulbs, each up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W warm-white LED candle bulbs at 2700K for a traditional look, or clear filament-style LED candles for visible lamp detail through the glass.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, provided you use dimmable E14 bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting itself has no electronic components that would prevent dimming.

What ceiling height is needed?

The minimum drop of 780mm suits standard 2.4-2.7m ceiling heights when hung in a hallway or dining room. For stairwells and double-height spaces, the chain extends to 1900mm, allowing the lantern to be positioned where it provides the most visual impact and functional light.

How is the glass cleaned?
