Description

The Ashtela is a caged wall light in brass and glass: a single glass shade held inside a sturdy brass guard beneath a brass cap, carried out from a round wall plate on an L-shaped arm so that the shade hangs down from the bend. It is 28cm tall and 9.5cm wide, and it stands 17cm out from the wall, a compact size for a narrow stretch of wall. We offer it in five finishes, Antique Silver, Antique Brass, Natural Brass, Polished Brass and Satin Brass, and you choose Clear, Crackled or Frosted glass to go with it. Clear glass lets the bulb show, Crackled glass gives the shade a fine veined texture, and Frosted glass softens the light into an even glow.

Rated IP65, it is protected against dust and jets of water, which means it is at home in a bathroom as well as a bedroom, dining room or living room. A pair either side of a bathroom mirror gives good, even light for the morning routine, and the cage and bracket bring a nautical, industrial look that sits well against plain plaster, painted panelling or bare brick. In a bedroom or living room it makes a gentle wall light beside a reading chair or in an alcove, and in a dining room a pair along one wall adds a soft layer of light at the level of the table.

Every Ashtela is made to order for you in Ireland, in brass and glass. It takes one E27 bulb, up to 40W per bulb, and bulbs are sold separately, so you fit the bulb of your choosing within that limit. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase; bulbs are not covered. As a mains fitting, it is for a qualified electrician to install.
