The Ashford is a tall wall light: a single upright cylinder of clear, patterned diffuser, crossed with fine diamond facets and fluted bands, held between stepped end caps on two short arms from a slim backplate. It is made from brass, steel, acrylic and glass, and comes in five finishes: Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Matt Black, Polished Brass and Satin Brass, with the Matt Black painted to RAL 9005. It stands 79cm tall and 15.4cm across, and reaches 24.3cm out from the wall. The light source is integrated LED, built into the fitting itself, and the patterned surface catches that light along the whole length of the cylinder.

This is a wall light for the dry rooms of the home: the living room, the dining room and the bedroom. Its height gives a wall real presence, and in a pair, one either side of a fireplace, a sideboard or a bed, it frames the space with an upright line of light. The stepped end caps and clear diffuser sit comfortably in period and modern rooms alike. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, and it is made for indoor use. Choose one of the brass finishes to bring warmth to darker walls, or Matt Black or Antique Silver for a cooler, crisper line.

Each Ashford is made to order for you in Ireland. It fixes to the wall by its backplate and is a Class II fitting. It is wired in to the mains, so a qualified electrician should install it. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase, and bulbs are not covered. One practical note before you order: at 79cm tall and reaching 24.3cm out from the wall, it needs a generous stretch of wall, so measure the space where it will hang and check it clears doors, furniture and passing shoulders.
