Description

The Artisan is a 5ft king size bed frame that pairs a solid oak frame in a natural, limed finish with an upholstered headboard in natural linen. Turned bobbin posts frame the headboard, with the same stacked turning carried down into the legs, giving it a country, artisan feel that sits between traditional and modern. The padded linen headboard fills the frame and gives you a soft, upright surface to lean against, while the oak footboard and side rails give the whole bed a solid, grounded look at the foot as well as the head.

As a king size frame it takes a standard UK 5ft mattress, 150 by 200cm, which is not included, so you can pair it with the mattress you prefer. The upholstered headboard makes it a comfortable bed to sit up in to read or watch something, and the neutral oak and natural linen suit most bedroom schemes, from pale and calm to warmer, layered rooms. It works as the anchor of a bedroom, and the turned detailing means it holds its own without needing much else around it beyond a pair of bedside tables and lamps.

The frame is solid oak in a limed finish, so the grain shows through and the tone and figure vary a little across the timber and settle further over time, which is normal for solid wood. It sits on a slatted base, included, which supports the mattress and lets air move underneath. The bed arrives flat for home assembly, with the fixings and instructions supplied, and the main sections bolt together. Wipe the oak with a soft, dry cloth and keep the linen headboard dusted or lightly vacuumed to keep it looking its best.
