Description

A round serving platter turned from mango wood, 40cm across and 3cm deep. The rim stands barely a centimetre above the face, enough to stop something rolling off but not enough to read as a bowl. The grain runs in bands across the full width, and the tone moves from pale cream to honey within a single piece.

Forty centimetres takes a whole cheese course, a joint waiting to be carved, or bread for a table of eight. At 0.99kg it is light for its size and carries in one hand. It is food safe.

The wood is mango, cut from trees felled once they have stopped fruiting. Each platter is turned from a single piece, so the banding is never repeated. The Artisan range also holds a 27cm dinner plate and a 20cm side plate.
