Description

This is a replacement glass for seven of our lanterns. It is a clear, ribbed glass dome, open at the base, where it finishes in a lip. The ribs run in fine vertical lines from the crown down the sides. The maker gives its total height as 150mm and its diameter as 115mm, flange included. Those two figures are the quickest way to check it against the glass you have now.

It fits the Armada Uplight Wall Lantern, the Hull Pendant Lantern and the Hull Guard Pendant Lantern, the Quinn Wall Lantern and the Quinn Guard Wall Lantern, the Tiller Wall Lantern and the Wellington Post Lantern. The usual reason to need one is a knock. A ladder, a stray football or a slammed gate can crack or chip a glass long before the rest of the light shows its age. A new glass brings the lantern back to its full look without replacing the whole fitting. It is also worth keeping a spare, so a breakage never leaves a lantern standing bare for long.

Ribbed glass breaks up the light from the lamp inside and softens its glare, while still letting a bright glow through. Glass is easy to keep looking its best. With the light switched off and cool, a wipe with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth lifts grime and cobwebs from the ribs. Before you order, check that your lantern is one of the seven named.
