Description

The Ardelis is a brass and glass wall light: a single pear-shaped glass, set in a banded brass holder, hangs from an L-shaped arm that turns down from a round backplate. The glass comes in Clear or Opal, and clear glass lets the bulb itself be part of the look. It comes in seven finishes: Polished Brass, Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Natural Brass, Satin Brass, and two painted finishes, Matt Black (RAL 9005) and White (RAL 9010). It is 31.5cm tall and 12cm wide, and it stands 24cm out from the wall.

It fits on a wall, and its IP65 rating means it suits a bathroom just as well as a bedroom, a living room or a dining room, so one design can run through the house. A pair either side of a bathroom mirror gives light at face height, and the same pair works beside a bed for reading. Polished Brass, Antique Brass and Antique Silver sit happily in a period interior or against panelling; Satin Brass is quieter; Matt Black and White suit a plainer, modern room. Choose Opal glass where you would rather not see a bare bulb.

Each Ardelis is made to order for you in Ireland, from brass and glass. Bulbs are sold separately: it takes one E27 bulb, up to 6.5W per bulb (LED), so you can choose the bulb that suits the room. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase, and bulbs are not covered. It is wired in to the mains by a qualified electrician, so agree the wall position and the height with them before the work begins. Our photographs show the Polished Brass, Antique Silver, Antique Brass, Matt Black and Satin Brass finishes.
