Description

The Arcus is a 2m LED profile cover in white aluminium with a 16x22mm cross-section, designed to protect and diffuse LED strip lighting in architectural, cabinet and cove lighting installations. The cover clips onto the Arcus aluminium profile housing (sold separately) and turns exposed LED strip into a finished linear light fitting with even diffusion across the strip length.

Used in kitchen plinths, under-cabinet lighting, architectural cove details, wardrobe interiors and retail display lighting, the cover shields LED strip from dust and mechanical damage while softening point-source glare into a continuous light line. The aluminium construction acts as a passive heat sink, helping to dissipate heat generated by the LED strip and extending diode lifespan in confined or high-output installations. The white finish reflects light internally before it exits through the diffuser section.

The 16mm width and 22mm height suit low-profile installations where the fitting needs to sit flush with a surface or recess into a shallow channel. The 2m length can be cut to fit shorter runs using a fine-tooth saw, and multiple sections can be joined end-to-end for runs longer than 2m. The cover fits the Arcus profile system from Ideal Lux, which includes mounting clips, end caps and corner connectors sold separately.

Does this include the profile housing?

No. This is the cover only. The aluminium profile housing, mounting clips, end caps and LED strip are sold separately. The cover clips onto the Arcus profile housing once the LED strip has been installed inside.

Can it be cut to length?

Yes. The 2m cover can be cut to fit shorter runs using a fine-tooth saw or a mitre saw with a metal-cutting blade. Cut slowly to avoid chipping the white finish or deforming the aluminium.

What width of LED strip does it suit?

The internal channel width of the Arcus profile housing determines the maximum LED strip width, typically 10-12mm. Check the profile housing specifications before ordering strip to ensure compatibility.

Is the diffuser frosted or clear?

The Arcus cover includes a frosted diffuser section that softens LED point-source glare into a continuous light line. The white aluminium sides reflect light internally before it exits through the diffuser.
