Description
This is a festive velvet cushion from our Arcticus range, made from 100% polyester and worked in a soft, deep-pile velvet. The face is a muted teal-blue, embroidered with a wintry woodland scene: frosted Christmas trees, bare branches and scattered snow, with the word 'Noel' picked out in a flowing script across the centre. The reverse is a plain pale duck-egg velvet, and a contrast piped trim runs the full way round the edge, framing the front and finishing the seam neatly. It comes in two shapes: this rectangular bolster at 30 x 50cm, and a square at 45 x 45cm.
The rectangular shape suits the front of a sofa or an armchair, sitting well in front of larger square cushions rather than competing with them. It is a seasonal piece, so it earns its place from late autumn through Christmas, layered against plainer everyday cushions in cream, grey or a deeper blue. The embroidered scene and the 'Noel' lettering make it a talking point on a made-up bed or a window seat, and the two-tone front-and-reverse means you can turn it plain-side-out if you want the pattern to rest.
Velvet is a pile fabric, so it holds light differently across its surface and reads richer where the pile lies one way and paler where it lies another; that is the nature of the cloth, not a fault. The polyester construction keeps it soft while standing up to everyday handling, and the zip closure lets you take the cover off the pad. Check the supplier's own care guidance before cleaning, as the raised embroidery and piping want gentle treatment. If you like the winter-woodland theme, the wider Arcticus range carries it across other pieces.

Frequently Asked
What is this cushion made from?
It is made from 100% polyester in a soft velvet, with a plain velvet reverse and a contrast piped trim running all the way around the edge.
Does the cover come off for cleaning?
Yes, it has a zip closure, so the cover can be taken off the pad. Follow the supplier's care guidance, as the embroidery and piping want gentle handling.
What sizes does it come in?
There are two shapes: this rectangular cushion at 30 x 50cm, and a square version at 45 x 45cm, so you can mix shapes across a sofa or bed.
Why does the velvet look different in different light?
Velvet is a pile fabric, so it catches the light and reads richer or paler depending on which way the pile lies. That shading is normal for the cloth.
Is it just for Christmas?
The 'Noel' lettering and frosted woodland scene make it a seasonal piece, best suited to the winter and Christmas months layered with plainer cushions.
