Description

The Arclight is a compact LED cone pendant from Ideal Lux, built around a black plastic conical shade 90mm wide and 140mm tall. An integrated LED inside the cone casts focused 3000K warm-white light downward through a small aperture at the base, making this a directional task light rather than ambient lighting.

Designed for installation over kitchen worktops, home office desks, bar counters and narrow dining tables where concentrated downlighting is needed, the Arclight's narrow cone angle keeps light on the surface below rather than spilling it across the room. The 6m cable allows the pendant to be installed in rooms with ceiling heights up to 2.7m while still positioning the shade 700-900mm above the work surface. Multiple Arclight pendants can be clustered in a row over a kitchen island or fitted in pairs over a desk.

The black plastic construction keeps the weight low at under 200g, allowing the pendant to hang from standard ceiling roses without additional reinforcement. The matt black finish absorbs ambient light rather than reflecting it, so the shade itself recedes visually and the focused pool of light below becomes the dominant feature. The IP20 rating restricts this pendant to dry indoor areas — kitchens, living rooms, offices and dining spaces where moisture and dust are minimal.

Is the Arclight dimmable?

No. The integrated LED is not compatible with dimmer switches. The light operates at full output when powered on.

What is the light spread like?

The conical shape creates a focused downward beam rather than diffused ambient light. The 90mm aperture and narrow cone angle concentrate light in a tight pool directly below the pendant, making this suited to task lighting over specific work areas rather than general room illumination.

Can the cable be shortened?

Yes. The 6m cable can be shortened during installation to suit the specific ceiling height and desired drop. Excess cable is typically coiled inside the ceiling rose.

How many should I install over a kitchen island?

For a standard 900mm-wide island, two or three Arclight pendants spaced 600-800mm apart provide even task lighting along the worktop. For wider islands (1200mm+), three to five pendants may be needed depending on the level of light required.
