Arbo Ice Tree Ring Printed Glass Wall Mirror 101cm

Arbo Ice L is a frameless wall mirror 101cm wide by 98cm high, cut to the irregular outline of a tree section and printed with its growth rings in a frosted white. The rings are traced rather than solid, so the reflection comes through them softened rather than blocked, and what the mirror gives back shifts with whatever is in front of it. The outline follows the bark edge rather than closing into a circle.

It works where a plain mirror would be too blank: above a console in a hallway, on a bedroom wall, in a bathroom where it is rated to go. The print is pale on pale, so it needs light across it to show the rings at all, and a wall that catches side light does far more for it than a flat lit one. It hangs in one direction. At 9kg and 2.5cm deep it is light and sits close to the wall, with two screws, washers and plugs supplied and nothing to assemble. The same design is made in a smaller size and in a dark version if a stronger contrast is wanted.

The mirror is printed and mirrored glass with no frame and no backing board. Clean it with cleaner sprayed onto a soft cloth, working with the curve of the rings rather than straight across the printed area. The outline is moulded rather than cut straight, so the bark edge keeps a soft scalloped rhythm that picks up light along its whole length. Seven year warranty, made in Belgium.
