Description

Arbo Gold M is a frameless wall mirror 80cm wide by 78cm high, cut to the outline of a slice through a trunk, with the growth rings and the radial checks printed onto the glass. The sawn edge is a band of warm gold that follows every bulge in the outline, so the shape is drawn by the edge rather than by a frame. The printing and the silvering are on one sheet, which is what keeps the rings inside the reflection. The design is by Deknudt Mirrors.

The gold edge is what separates this from the pale and the charcoal versions, and it changes where the mirror will sit: gold reads warm against oak and brick and cool against grey, so it wants a wall considered rather than a gap filled. It suits a hallway, a living room or a bathroom, where it is rated to go. It hangs from two screws in one direction, since the outline is not symmetrical. At 8kg and 2.5cm deep it is a one person lift, with two screws, washers and plugs supplied and nothing to assemble. A larger 101cm size is made in the same three edges.

The mirror is printed and mirrored glass in one sheet, with no backing board. Clean it with cleaner sprayed onto a soft cloth rather than onto the glass, working along the rings rather than across them. The gold is printed rather than leafed, so it will not lift at the edge the way applied metal leaf can, and it takes a damp cloth without marking. Seven year warranty, made in Belgium.
