Description

Arbo Gold L is a frameless wall mirror 102cm wide by 98cm high, cut to the irregular outline of a tree section and printed with its growth rings in a warm gold. It is a limited edition of the Arbo design, which is otherwise made in a frosted white and a dark colouring; the gold reflects light more softly than either and pulls a little warmth out of the wall behind it. The outline follows the bark edge rather than closing into a circle.

It suits a hallway, a bedroom or a living room where a plain mirror would sit too quietly, and it is rated bathroom proof, so a bathroom is open to it. The gold print is dense enough to read at a distance, which the frosted version is not, so this one carries a larger wall on its own. It hangs in one direction. At 9kg and 2.5cm deep it is a one person lift and sits close to the wall, with two screws, washers and plugs supplied and nothing to assemble. Because the gold is printed on the glass rather than applied to a frame, the colour changes with what stands in front of it: warmer against timber, cooler against plaster.

The mirror is printed and mirrored glass with no frame and no backing board. Clean it with cleaner sprayed onto a soft cloth, working with the curve of the rings rather than straight across the printed area. The outline is moulded rather than cut straight, so the bark edge keeps a soft scalloped rhythm that picks up light along its whole length. Seven year warranty, made in Belgium.
