Arbo Dark Tree Ring Printed Glass Wall Mirror 80cm

Arbo Dark M is a frameless wall mirror 80cm wide by 78cm high, cut to the outline of a slice through a trunk, with the growth rings and the radial checks printed onto the glass. The sawn edge is charcoal, almost black, and it reads as bark: a dark irregular band that makes the outline the strongest thing about the piece. The printing shares the sheet with the silvering, so the rings sit in the reflection. The design is by Deknudt Mirrors.

The dark edge gives this version more weight on a wall than the pale or the gold one, and it will hold its own against a strong wall colour where the others would be lost. It suits a hallway, a living room or a bathroom, where it is rated to go. It hangs from two screws in one direction, since the outline is not symmetrical and the pith sits off centre. At 8kg and 2.5cm deep it is a one person lift, with two screws, washers and plugs supplied and nothing to assemble. The same design is made in a larger 101cm size.

The mirror is printed and mirrored glass in one sheet, with no backing board. Clean it with cleaner sprayed onto a soft cloth rather than onto the glass, working outwards along the rings. The charcoal edge is dense enough to hide the glass edge entirely, which is why the mirror reads as a solid cut rather than as a sheet with a printed border. Seven year warranty, made in Belgium.

Is there a frame?

No. The mirror is frameless and the dark sawn edge is the outline.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

Yes. It is rated bathroom proof, so steam and humidity are not a problem.
