Description

The Aperta A1ECP is an emergency door release call point in RAL6016 green with a resettable frangible element and integrated DPDT relays. The unit measures 89x89mm and can be flush-mounted to a standard UK single-gang back box or surface-mounted using the included surface backbox. The green housing and white faceplate with black arrows and text provide clear visual identification as an emergency exit control.

Designed for fire doors, access control systems and emergency exit routes in commercial, industrial and public buildings, the call point releases electromagnetic locks or door strikes when the frangible element is pressed. The resettable element means the unit can be returned to service after activation without requiring a replacement cartridge, reducing ongoing maintenance costs. The DPDT relay configuration provides flexibility for normally-open or normally-closed door control circuits.

The RAL6016 green finish meets standard fire safety colour coding for emergency exit devices, making the unit immediately recognisable in corridors, stairwells and reception areas. The surface backbox depth of 55mm allows installation on solid walls without chasing, while flush mounting to a standard 25mm back box provides a neater profile on partition walls. The clear 'EMERGENCY DOOR RELEASE' wording and directional arrows remain visible under both daylight and emergency lighting conditions.

Frequently Asked

What does the resettable frangible element mean?

The frangible element is the plastic cover that breaks when pressed in an emergency to activate the door release. 'Resettable' means this element can be replaced after activation without needing to replace the entire unit, reducing maintenance costs compared to single-use designs.

Can this be flush-mounted to a standard UK back box?

Yes. The unit fits a standard UK single-gang 25mm back box for flush mounting into plasterboard or stud walls. A surface backbox is also included for installation on solid walls without chasing.

What relay configuration does it use?

The unit includes DPDT (double-pole double-throw) relays, providing both normally-open and normally-closed contacts. This allows the call point to work with different electromagnetic lock and door strike configurations.

Is the green colour standard for fire safety equipment?

Yes. RAL6016 green is the standard colour for emergency exit and fire safety equipment in the UK and Europe, providing immediate visual recognition as an emergency control device.
