Description

The Aperta A1ML250 is a 250kg holding force electromagnetic door lock designed for internal access control on single or double doors. The lock operates on either 12V or 24V DC supply and uses fail-safe logic, meaning the lock releases when power is cut, allowing emergency exit during fire alarm activation or power outage.

Installed at the top of the door frame, the lock consists of an electromagnet plate mounted to the frame and a steel armature plate mounted to the door leaf. When powered, the electromagnet holds the armature with 250kg of force, sufficient to secure lightweight to medium-weight internal doors in residential, office, and light commercial access control applications. The lock includes both Z-bracket and L-bracket mounting hardware, accommodating different door and frame configurations including inward-opening, outward-opening, and doors with narrow frame reveals.

The unit measures 276mm long by 67mm wide by 75mm deep and weighs 2.4kg. An integrated LED on the electromagnet housing indicates lock status—lit when energised and holding, extinguished when de-energised. A built-in contact sensor monitors whether the door is fully closed and the armature plate has mated correctly with the magnet, providing feedback to the access control system. The lock is designed for internal use only and is not weatherproofed for outdoor or high-moisture environments.
