Description

We stock the Antic in smoke glass as a two-light wall fitting for a warm, ambient glow. A pair of vertical ribbed glass cylinders sits on a central brushed gold sphere and circular backplate, and each cylinder houses a G9 bulb (sold separately) behind the fluted surface. The ribbed glass refracts the light both upwards and downwards along the wall, so you get a soft wash rather than a harsh point of light.

We like it for hallways, bedroom flanking positions and living room accent walls, where the vertical arrangement suits walls with limited horizontal space. The brushed gold metalwork gives a warm accent that sits well with brass fittings, warm timber and schemes built around greys, deep greens or navy.

The fitting takes 2 x G9 bulbs with a combined 28W rating (2 x 14W maximum per bulb), which keeps heat output moderate for close-to-wall mounting. It runs on 220-240V 50Hz AC and is rated IP20, so it is suited to dry indoor positions. The fitting is not dimmable. The ribbed glass cylinders have a substantial diameter that balances the metal fittings, so the piece does not read as top-heavy despite the vertical layout.

Frequently Asked

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

It takes 2 x G9 bulbs, up to 14W each (28W combined). Bulbs are sold separately, so you can choose the colour temperature and output that suit the room.

Is it dimmable?

No, this fitting is not dimmable. If you want to vary the level, you can pair it with a separate lamp on a dimmed circuit or use a smart bulb rated for the G9 socket.

Can I use it in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only. For bathroom zones, choose a higher IP-rated fitting.

How does the smoke glass differ from the amber and opal options?

The smoke glass gives a cooler, tinted diffusion for a subtler light, while the amber warms the glow and the opal reads brighter and more neutral. All three share the same brushed gold frame and G9 fittings.
