Anorias Colour Changing Smoked Glass Pendant Light - Black Nickel

The Anorias is a smoked glass pendant light: a single globe 25cm across, hanging on a slim black cord from a round ceiling canopy, with an overall height of 150cm. The body is steel in a black nickel finish, and the shade is vaporised glass in a black-transparent tone, so the globe looks like a dark, mirrored sphere when unlit and grows clearer once the LEDs inside are lit. The LEDs are integrated, giving 650 lumens, so there is no separate bulb to fit. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in a dry room.

Hang it over a dining table, where a single globe gives the room a clear centre, or use it above a bedside or a reading chair in a living room or bedroom. The real gain is choice. It changes colour across RGB, the colour temperature of its white light can be set warmer or cooler, and it dims, so one pendant covers bright white for a family meal and a low coloured glow for a quiet evening. If you like to change the mood of a room without changing the light, we think this is the one.

You control the light with the remote control that comes in the box or with an app, so you can adjust it from your seat. There is no switch on the fitting itself, so the power is switched at the wall. It runs on 220-240V, 50/60Hz, and as a hard-wired mains light it should be installed by a qualified electrician. The installation instructions come as a download, and the packed weight is 2.15KG, a useful figure to share with your electrician before the job starts.
